A stunning and highly decorative vintage Chinese hardwood jewelry box, crafted from rich, reddish-brown Huali (Rosewood). The lid features exquisite polychrome mother-of-pearl inlay depicting a magpie perched on a blooming plum blossom branch—a classic Chinese motif known as "Magpie on Plum Blossom", symbolizing joy, good news, and happiness.
The front panel is heavily adorned with decorative elements: four brass-set round cabochons (blue and red stones), flanked by two large, vibrant green carved jade-like discs, all framing a traditional brass latch.
The mother-of-pearl continues onto the side panels. This piece is a perfect example of traditional Chinese decorative arts, ideal for storing jewelry, small keepsakes, or as a show-stopping vanity display piece.
