Limited-edition lithograph on paper depicting a quiet rural landscape with a small farmhouse surrounded by fields and tall, densely rendered trees. Executed in Kipniss’s characteristic restrained monochromatic palette, the composition creates a contemplative, atmospheric sense of solitude through subtle tonal gradations and simplified natural forms. Signed “Kipniss” in pencil at lower right and numbered 23/175 in pencil at lower left, from an edition of 175. The title “The Small Field” is also inscribed on the reverse of the frame. Kipniss is particularly recognized for atmospheric landscapes featuring trees, fields and isolated architectural forms, subjects that became central to his mature work.
