Antique Reverse Painted Glass Table Lamp Scenic Landscape 18” Shade 23.5”
Description
Impressive antique reverse-painted glass scenic table lamp, dating approximately to the early 20th century.
The large domed glass shade features a beautifully colored landscape scene with a rustic cabin, trees, stonework, stream and distant mountains. The warm yellow, amber and reddish sky gives the lamp a wonderful glow when illuminated.
The lamp rests on an ornate cast metal base with classical detailing and green and reddish-brown painted accents. It retains its twin pull-chain configuration and decorative top finial.
The lamp appears to have been rewired more recently. The two sockets are newer replacements and have been painted brown to better blend with the older fixture.
Please note that the metal heat cap/shade support at the top has been altered, with the center opening apparently enlarged or cut. In my opinion, the lamp would benefit from a proper replacement heat cap. The photographs show the cap both installed and removed so buyers can clearly see its present condition.
The reverse-painted glass shade appears quite nice overall from the photographs, with expected minor surface/age wear. Metal base has an attractive aged finish/patina with typical finish wear and oxidation. No maker’s mark has been identified.
