An elegant, curated pair of authentic 19th-century French chromolithographs from Albert Charles Auguste Racinet’s monumental work, "Le Costume Historique," originally completed in Paris, c. 1876.This matching set features two beautifully detailed historical plates:
Plate 1 ("Allemagne"): Depicts 16th-century German Royalty outfits and aristocratic costume design.
Plate 2 ("Europe XVIe Siècle"): Highlighting ecclesiastical, religious, and noble vestments of the 16th century. Both antique prints are elegantly housed in matching, traditional gold gilt frames with multi-tiered, professional gallery matting. The framing package brilliantly accentuates the soft, rich tones of late-19th-century French color printing.
A magnificent find for interior designers, these pieces are perfect for flanking a doorway, styling a study, or anchoring a classical gallery wall.
Provenance & Authenticity:
The original brown paper dust-cover backings remain untouched and fully intact to preserve the framing integrity. Both frames feature their original typed historical informational labels detailing the plates, artist, and publication origin.
