From the iconography, the drapery and the dresses, and some references, we understand that we are in front of a work of a Neoclassical matrix. A virgin is holding the reins of a wagon driven by big eagles. Above this scene, with clear references to Classicism, there are three touching scenes of motherhood. At the center of the sheet and in the back, there are two rapid pencil sketches depicting a landscape. In good conditions, with the usual yellowing of the paper on the margins due to the passing of time, and obvious signs of foxing. Anyways, these original drawings retain their charm and appear incredibly touching still today! See less
