Description
Impressive antique or early vintage Rococo Revival gilt cast-metal mirrored wall sconce / candelabrum, featuring an exceptionally ornate design with scrolling acanthus foliage, rocaille decoration, flowers and elaborate pierced ornament surrounding the shaped mirror.
The lower portion incorporates multiple projecting candle sockets on decorative scrolling arms, creating a dramatic three-dimensional form. The tall openwork crest and abundant floral and foliate decoration make this a particularly striking piece of decorative wall lighting.
The construction appears to be cast metal with a gilt/gold-colored finish. The reverse has an old metal backing plate behind the mirror. No maker’s mark has been located.

Estate fresh condition with age-appropriate wear, oxidation, discoloration and losses/wear to the gilt finish. The candle sockets show old residue and wear.
