The white plate features a richly detailed gold double-headed eagle at center, framed by an elaborate neoclassical scrollwork border in burnished gold, black, and warm bronze tones.

The reverse identifies the plate as the official symbol of the U.S. Bicentennial Society and lists its notable trustees, including Virginius Dabney, H. Lester Cooke, R. Buckminster Fuller, Gregory Peck, Samuel Eliot Morison, and C. Vann Woodward. This example is individually numbered 3454 of a limited edition of 5,000 and marked as an authorized issue of the U.S. Bicentennial Mint.
