This distinctive solid-wood cabinet combines richly toned woodwork with beautifully engraved metal panels for an unusually decorative and versatile accent piece. Its compact proportions allow it to function as a nightstand, side cabinet, drinks cabinet, or sophisticated storage piece in a living room, library, entryway, or office.
Constructed of solid wood throughout, the cabinet has a warm reddish-brown finish suggestive of mahogany or cherry. Substantial architectural moldings frame the cabinet, including a projecting molded cornice, layered trim surrounding the door, and a broad plinth-style base.
The front door, both sides, and top are inset with genuine metal panels. Each panel features its own scrolling botanical and fleur-de-lis-inspired engraved design, bordered by individually applied real metal rivets. The dark, aged metal provides a handsome contrast against the warmth and natural variation of the wood.
The paneled door retains its original keyed lock, and the included key operates properly. A decorative tassel accompanies the key. Inside, the cabinet offers useful enclosed storage with one adjustable wooden shelf. The back is also fully finished with a handsome raised wood panel, allowing the cabinet to be displayed where portions of the back may remain visible. The back does not contain a decorative metal panel.
No maker’s mark has been located. Nevertheless, the solid-wood construction, finished interior and back, working keyed lock, substantial moldings, genuine metal ornament, and individually applied rivets reflect excellent quality and careful attention to detail.

The cabinet is exceptionally solid and well constructed of solid wood throughout, including the door, interior, adjustable shelf, and fully finished raised-panel back. The warm mahogany- or cherry-toned finish displays natural grain variation, subtle rubbing, scattered surface marks, and minor finish wear that contribute to its authentic character. The substantial molded cornice, door surround, and plinth-style base remain structurally sound. The genuine inset metal panels on the front, both sides, and top remain securely mounted and retain their distinctive engraved scrolling designs. The individually applied metal rivets are intact. The metal surfaces display natural patina, tonal variation, and light age-related wear. The paneled door opens and closes properly. The original lock is functional, and its working key with decorative tassel is included. The interior adjustable shelf is present and functions as intended. No maker’s mark has been located.
