Overlapping arcs of … Read more This is one of my new abstract oil paintings that balances playful color against confident, mid-century-inspired form. Overlapping arcs of blue, olive, teal, and pale lavender drift across a ground of cream, chartreuse, and charcoal, while a bold center orange curve anchors the painting. Textured brushwork gives every shape a tactile quality. The oil painting is done on a canvas hardboard panel, then varnished for protection. The ornate vintage frame has gold-leafed inner and outer edges, bordered by a hand-painted band in weathered teal. The frame's aged patina and soft brushed texture echo the painting's surface, pairing old-world presentation with a thoroughly modern composition. Please note the frame is old and has areas of distress and some of the gold leaf is worn and chipped (I look for frames that tell a story). Original artwork by Suzanne Nicoll. Signed on the back, ready to hang. The outer size of the piece is 12"x14" and the inner painting is 8"x10", a perfect size for a bookshelf. See less
