Bouyssou was particularly recognized for his paintings of French ports, coastal landscapes and maritime life. This work displays his characteristic expressive brushwork, simplified architectural forms and sophisticated palette of soft blues, grays, creams and muted earth tones punctuated by brighter color.
The painting is signed “Jacques Bouyssou” at the lower left and is especially desirable because it retains extensive identifying documentation on the reverse.
