An exceptional late 19th-century Victorian Gothic Revival figural desk novelty, cast in heavy bronze (or brass) with a gorgeous, deep naturally aged patina. This whimsical, highly collectible piece features a grinning gothic imp or gargoyle character and functions beautifully as a match holder and striker.

* Match Striker & Holder: Features a dedicated central match holder tube atop the head, complemented by textured match-striker surfaces on the undersides of the feet.
* Hinge Mechanism: The detailed, ruffled hair flips back smoothly on its original, securely attached rear hinge.
