The image is inscribed “Vase de Marbre” and retains the historic artist references “J. Robert Sculp.” and “S. Thomassin fecit.” The original composition relates to the celebrated sculptural and garden ornament program at Château de Versailles, and features an elaborate vase decorated with musical instruments, garlands, foliate ornament, and classical detailing.

This later decorative reproduction is printed in vivid color against a dramatic black ground, giving the historic design a more graphic, contemporary presentation. It is professionally framed under glass with a broad black mat and pale gold-tone wood frame.
