Striking vintage 1965 Syroco wall pocket planter featuring an elaborate faux-carved wood plaque paired with a removable metallic gold-tone jardinière.
The ornate molded frame is richly decorated with scrolling flourishes, shell and floral motifs, creating a wonderfully theatrical mid-century decorative accent. The removable planter pocket features a softly aged gold/brass-tone finish with additional floral and foliate ornament.
Marked on the reverse “Copyright MCMLXV © Syroco, Inc. Made in USA”, with the original model markings #5141 / #5142.
A fantastic example of Syroco's mid-century molded decorative work, this piece brings together Hollywood Regency, Rococo Revival and maximalist traditional influences in one highly sculptural wall accent. Beautiful displayed with trailing greenery, dried botanicals, or simply on its own as an architectural decorative piece.
The piece is in very good vintage condition, with the expected character of a nearly 60-year-old decorative object. Overall, the finishes and molded details remain exceptionally well preserved.
