Impressive large-scale Rococo Revival-style wall mirror featuring an exceptionally ornate gold-finished frame with dimensional floral, foliate and scroll decoration.
The substantial architectural frame surrounds an oval mirror and is embellished throughout with dimensional roses, flowers, leaves, beaded borders, scrolling acanthus motifs and an elaborate floral crest. The warm antiqued gold finish has developed attractive variation and patina, emphasizing the depth of the detailed ornamentation.
Measuring approximately 55 inches tall and 41 inches wide, this is a substantial statement piece well suited for an entryway, living room, bedroom, dressing area, over a console, or as a dramatic focal point in a traditional or maximalist interior.
The structural frame is wood with applied decorative composition ornamentation. The mirror is substantial and weighs approximately 50 pounds.
Vintage/pre-owned condition with age-appropriate surface wear, finish variation, small nicks and areas of rubbing/loss to the gold finish. Dust is present within some of the deeply detailed ornamentation. No damage to the mirror glass was observed. Please review photographs closely as they are considered part of the condition description.
Existing hanging wire/hardware is present. Due to the approximately 50-pound weight, appropriate heavy-duty or professional installation is recommended; no representation is made regarding the suitability of the existing hardware for installation.
