A charming English Staffordshire-style reproduction sculpture depicting a recumbent lamb. The lamb has a sweet, expressive face with black eyes, gracefully extended ears, and an exceptionally tactile coat created with thick, curling strands of applied clay.
Finished in a warm creamy-white glaze with subtle darker accents throughout the textured fleece, the sculpture has the appealing character of an older English pottery figure. Its generously scaled form makes it an especially attractive decorative object for a country house, traditional interior, farmhouse kitchen, nursery, or spring and Easter display.
This is a later decorative reproduction and is not represented as an antique Staffordshire figure. The sculpture is hollow, with an opening on the underside from the manufacturing and firing process.
