Beautiful flowers dominate the composition and a large imperial moth sits on the table. (Rest assured, the moth was found dead on a sidewalk and not captured live.) The vase is an antique Edwardian English milk pitcher. Some fruit is on the right in a Chinese bowl. The painting is 12x9 inches and is framed in an elegant gold frame. Overall, the framed size of the art work is 13 and 5/8ths inches by 10 and 5/8ths inches.

Marina Movshina is an American artist known for landscape painting, and for her illustrations of children’s books, as well as her botanicals. Her paintings have been selected for the exhibition of distinguished alumni at Carnegie-Mellon’s Centennial Celebration of its College of Fine Art, the Logan Center at the University of Chicago and the Harlin Museum in West Plains, MO. An elected artist member of the American Artists’ Professional League, New York, NY, she is admired for her skill as a painter and draftsman in the handling of space, depiction of light, and expert use of color. She received a B.F.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University and studied at the Art Students’ League, New York, NY, Washington University, St. Louis, MO, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL. Marina lives in St. Louis, MO.
