Made from handspun wool and using organic, natural dyes, it showcases intricate designs and a striking color palette. Soumak, also known as Soumakh, Sumac, or Somekh, is a flat-weave rug recognized for its impressive thickness, strength, and exceptional durability. It employs an ancient weft-wrapping technique, which allows it to combine the lightweight charm of a Kilim with the robust qualities of a hand-knotted rug. The vibrant tribal and geometric patterns feature rich color variations, known as abrash, which add a vintage-inspired character. The intentionally unfinished back and unique corded texture of the Soumak rug showcase the authenticity of its handwoven craftsmanship. Ideal for high-traffic areas, this versatile piece can effortlessly adorn living rooms, bedrooms, entryways, or even serve as a decorative wall hanging. Its natural wool fibers offer a soft feel underfoot, making it as practical as it is beautiful. Whether as an area rug or an accent piece, this Soumak rug brings artistry and warmth to any home, ensuring that every piece is uniquely cherished.
