Shape: new cutout decor: sheaf pattern with border, rich and colourful with copper tones and gold dots, gold rim, plastic rosebuds as knobs on the lids. Decor number: 391110 this historical sheaf design is stylistically based on east asian models in the so-called ‘kakiemon style’, which found their way to europe via imports in the 18th century and were masterfully recreated in meissen. An artfully stylised sheaf of grain forms the central motif, surrounded by delicate asian flowers and foliage in a colourful overglaze decoration, dominated by warm, lustrous shades of copper and iron red.
