This rare and sculptural studio ceramic vase was designed in the 1950s by the renowned German ceramicist Andreas Kastl (a student of Jan Bontjes van Beek).
The piece captivates with its timeless Bauhaus silhouette and an exceptional, homogeneous glaze in matte midnight blue.
The underside bears the impressed workshop mark (Four Towers/Kastl) of Kastl's studio in Ahrensburg, as well as the form and size number 125/25. This piece has an attribution mark,
