Vintage 1991 exhibition poster featuring Roy Lichtenstein’s iconic Washing Machine, published for the Yale University Art Gallery.
The poster reproduces Lichtenstein’s 1961 painting Washing Machine, an early Pop Art composition depicting a manicured hand pouring detergent into a top-loading washing machine. The original painting forms part of the Yale University Art Gallery collection.
Printed in 1991 by Springdale Graphics of Springdale, Connecticut, this poster was issued as part of a group of Yale University Art Gallery posters featuring works by Lichtenstein. Period examples are documented as offset lithographic exhibition posters on paper.
Presented in a slim gold metal frame, complementing the graphic black, white, gray and yellow palette beautifully. A fantastic piece of vintage Pop Art ephemera and an immediately recognizable Lichtenstein image.
Poster dimensions: approximately 24" H × 27" W.
