Presenting a magnificent and richly patinated vintage Chinese carved Boxwood brush pot (Bitong). Crafted from dense, fine-grained Boxwood with a beautiful, warm reddish-brown patina, this is a quintessential scholar's object.

The exterior is masterfully carved in deep, dynamic high relief with the classic and highly auspicious "Eight Horses" (八骏图) motif. The scene depicts majestic horses galloping and frolicking through a mountainous landscape of gnarled pine trees, waterfalls, and rocks. The horses' musculature and dynamic poses are rendered with incredible skill.
