Description:
Presenting a magnificent and richly patinated vintage Chinese carved bamboo brush pot (Bitong). Crafted from a thick section of aged bamboo with a deep, glossy reddish-brown color, this exquisite piece stands on three carved feet.

The exterior is masterfully carved in deep, dynamic openwork high relief with the classic, highly auspicious "Liu Hai Playing with the Golden Toad" (刘海戏金蟾) motif. The composition features the immortal Liu Hai holding a string of copper coins, playfully teasing a three-legged toad perched on a rock below. The scene is beautifully framed by gnarled pine branches, bamboo stalks, and swirling clouds. Calligraphy inscriptions are visible on the rock face.

Condition: Excellent condition. The bamboo is solid with no visible cracks. The carving is crisp, detailed, and fully intact, showing a beautiful natural patina consistent with age and gentle use. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
