Presenting a magnificent and richly patinated vintage Chinese carved bamboo brush pot (Bitong). Crafted from thick, aged bamboo with a deep, glossy reddish-brown color, this piece is a quintessential scholar's object.

The exterior is masterfully carved in deep, dynamic high relief with a classic "Lotus Pond" (荷塘清趣) scene. The composition features large, overlapping lotus leaves and blooming lotus flowers, rising above stylized water waves. At the bottom, a highly detailed, lifelike crab is carved crawling among the reeds, a traditional Chinese symbol of harmony and prosperity.

Condition: Excellent condition. The bamboo is solid with no visible cracks. The carving is crisp, detailed, and fully intact, showing a beautiful natural patina consistent with age and gentle use. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
