Presenting a magnificent and richly patinated vintage Chinese carved bamboo brush pot (Bitong). This is a quintessential scholar's object, crafted from aged bamboo with a deep, glossy reddish-amber color.

The exterior is masterfully carved in deep, dynamic high relief with the classic auspicious theme of "Kui Xing Dian Dou" (魁星点斗). The Daoist deity of examinations, Kui Xing, is depicted in a lively, vigorous pose, holding a writing brush, stepping on an Ao (mythical turtle) and surrounded by swirling clouds and ribbons. This motif symbolizes achieving the highest academic honor and success. The reverse side features exquisitely carved scrolling clouds and floral sprays.

Condition: Excellent condition. The bamboo is solid with no visible cracks. The carving is crisp and intact, showing a beautiful natural patina consistent with age and gentle use. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
