Presenting a magnificent and beautifully aged vintage Chinese carved hardwood brush pot (Bitong). This is a quintessential scholar's object, crafted from dense wood with a rich, dark reddish-brown patina that has developed a wonderful luster over time.

The exterior is masterfully carved in deep high relief (bas-relief) with a classic, highly auspicious "Crane and Pine" (松鹤延年) motif. It depicts majestic cranes standing among gnarled pine branches, swirling clouds, and scholar's rocks—a traditional symbol of longevity, wisdom, and peace.

The reverse side is elegantly inscribed with Chinese calligraphy, featuring lines of poetry and a square artist's seal, adding profound literary charm to the piece. The base features a stepped wooden stand integrated into the design.
