Iconic Area floor lamp designed by Mario Bellini for Artemide, Italy. The sculptural shade is Bellini's original hand-folded parchment paper design — a soft, origami-like form that diffuses light beautifully and has become one of the most recognizable pieces of 1970s Italian lighting design.
This example has its original parchment shade (not a replacement), mounted on a slender adjustable metal stem with a black enameled metal base measuring approximately 63 x 18 x 18 inches.
Acquired at auction; in good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age Fully wired and working, takes a standard bulb.
A design classic that's hard to find with the original shade intact — most examples on the market today have replacement shades in fabric or other materials.
