A fine set of antique English bed steps (also known as library stair steps), in the Regency style, from the early 19th century.
The frame is crafted from a rich, polished mahogany, showcasing prominent, elegant wood grain patterns on the vertical front panels.
Each of the three steps features an inset black leather tread adorned with decorative gilt-embossed (gold-tooled) borders along the edges. Top step opens for storage, and second step opens and is removable.
The whole structure is supported by distinctive, vertically aligned turned legs on the front step and shorter matching feet at the back.
A beautiful addition to a library, study, office, or bedroom.
