A fine English wine cooler (also known as a cellarette) for wine and spirits, crafted in a traditional sarcophagus form. in the Regency style - featuring a shaped, rectangular open top with a beautifully molded rim and tapered, paneled sides.
The exterior is built from rich, warm-toned mahogany displaying a distinctive grain pattern, the inside is fully enclosed with its original weathered zinc metal lining, which served to hold ice and keep beverage bottles chilled, the whole resting on a matching plinth base of mahogany.
Makes a great planter as well.
