A charming twin-pedestal American Colonial Revival vanity set from the 1920s, manufactured by National Furniture Company of Mount Airy, North Carolina - a historic hub of American furniture production. This complete three-piece set includes the vanity, its original tri-fold mirror, and a matching bench.
The vanity features two drawer pedestals flanking a curved kneehole apron, topped with a hinged tri-fold mirror that allows side-profile views. Drawer fronts are accented with delicate hand-applied floral rose decals and original glass hexagonal knobs, adding period charm. The piece stands on gracefully turned legs with original casters.
Warm walnut tones throughout show honest wear consistent with age: surface scuffs, finish wear on the tabletop, and a replaced fabric on the bench seat, with the original fabric still visible beneath. Interior drawer construction shows period-correct materials and assembly, including a fragment of vintage newspaper used as a drawer liner.
A wonderful example of 1920s American bedroom furniture.

Details below: Surfaces: Tabletops show water rings, heat marks, and light surface scratching from decades of use — visible in photos. Finish is original but worn/thinned in spots, particularly on the vanity top surfaces. One veneer edge shows minor chipping with visible substrate (see close-up photos). Mirror: Tri-fold mirror is intact and functional; hinges operate smoothly. Glass shows light silvering wear/spotting typical of vintage mirrors, with no cracks. Hardware: Original glass hexagonal drawer knobs are present and intact. Drawers operate but may show some age-related sticking; interior of drawers shows expected wear, including a small vintage newspaper fragment used as an old liner. Structural repairs: Back panel shows visible screws and past repair/reinforcement work (see detail photos) — solid and stable, but not untouched from original manufacture. Bench: Seat fabric has been replaced; original fabric is visible underneath and not currently exposed. Bench frame is sound. Overall: A genuine, complete, functional antique vanity set showing appropriate wear for its age (100 years old). No structural instability. Recommended for buyers who appreciate honest patina rather than a fully restored piece. less
