Housed in a stunning 18k gilt bronze (ormolu) rococo-style case, this esoteric timepiece embodies the profound philosophical traditions of the French Restoration period. Topped by a striking crowned skull finial symbolizing the ultimate equalizer, the case features high-relief skeletons on the side panels and serpentine figures with the engraved Latin inscription "SIC TRANZIT GLORIA MUNDI" on the reverse.
