Antique 3pc Bear Beehive Girandole Candelabra Set Gilt Brass Crystal Marble
Description
Beautiful antique three-piece bear and beehive girandole candelabra garniture, dating to approximately the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900.
The set consists of a larger three-light center candelabra flanked by a matching pair of single-light candlesticks. Each piece features an unusually charming and highly detailed bear and beehive (bee skep) motif, surrounded by foliage and rustic architectural details. The ornate gilt brass/metal construction retains a particularly attractive warm gold finish.
The center girandole has elaborate scrolling foliate arms and all three pieces are hung with clear faceted crystal/glass prisms. Each is mounted on a rectangular white marble base.
A very decorative petite-scale Victorian girandole set that displays beautifully as a complete three-piece mantel or console garniture.
Approximate measurements:
Center candelabra: 14” wide x just under 17” high, 4" deep
Side candlesticks: 6 1/2” wide x 12 1/4” high x approximately 3.5” deep.
Condition: Very nice antique condition overall with attractive surviving gilding. Some normal age-related wear, surface patina/soiling and minor imperfections may be present. Marble bases show normal age and use. They are missing a couple crystal prisms which have tiny edge flakes or chips typical of antique prisms.
