A wonderfully whimsical coastal sideboard by GuildMaster, featuring a wrapped grasscloth exterior hand-painted with an underwater scene of tropical fish, seahorses, coral and aquatic foliage.
The textural grasscloth completely wraps the case, drawer fronts, sides and legs, with dark metal drop pulls and a scalloped apron completing the design. The aged and gently frayed grasscloth gives the piece an especially relaxed, collected coastal character that we love.
The chest has been cleaned and restored while intentionally retaining its vintage character. Loose areas of the grasscloth were carefully secured to help prevent further lifting. The wood top was refinished and has a rustic, varied appearance with visible grain, color variation and imperfections.
A fantastic statement chest for an Old Florida, coastal or tropical interior.

The grasscloth exhibits fading, discoloration, surface wear, fraying and losses throughout, all of which contribute to its wonderfully aged appearance. Loose areas of grasscloth have been secured with adhesive where necessary. The wood top has been refinished and retains considerable rustic character, including variations in color, grain, marks, separations and other imperfections.
