This example was made by Precedent, a division of Sherrill Furniture in Newton, North Carolina, and the original manufacturer's tag is intact and photographed. Not a Kagan. A well-built American interpretation of his most recognizable silhouette.

The shape is the whole point. An asymmetrical back curls around one side and drops away on the other, so the chair reads differently from every angle. No visible legs. It floats on a concealed swivel base and turns a full 360.

Upholstered in the original tan microsuede. Frame is solid with no wobble, seat holds its shape with no sag, and the swivel mechanism moves smoothly. The fabric shows light spotting and shading consistent with age and use, documented in the photos. No tears, no pet damage, no structural issues. An excellent candidate for reupholstery if you want it in bouclé or shearling, and the form takes new fabric beautifully.
