The cabinet … Read more A striking 1970s two-door cabinet from Lane Furniture’s sought-after Pueblo collection, featuring the line’s distinctive sculptural Brutalist façade.

The cabinet is constructed in oak with a gently bowed front and dramatic dimensional doors assembled from an intricate mosaic of rough-hewn, carved and geometric wood elements. Contrasting tones and textures across the façade give the piece an almost architectural quality, while the beautifully figured oak top provides a quieter counterpoint to the highly sculptural front.

The two doors open to reveal a spacious interior with a fixed wood shelf, making this versatile piece suitable as an oversized nightstand, side cabinet, small console or accent cabinet.

The cabinet has been carefully restored while preserving the character and variation of the original Pueblo door treatment. The oak top and case have been refinished to showcase the unusually attractive grain and warm natural coloration of the wood. Vintage wear and irregularities remain consistent with age and the intentionally rustic character of the collection.
