This is a stunning vintage Chinese porcelain miniature vase, decorated in the vibrant "Imperial Yellow" ground color traditionally reserved for the Emperor.
The vase features a classic, elegant shape with a slender neck and a rounded, bulbous body. The brilliant yellow background is beautifully contrasted by a majestic, coiling dragon painted in shades of blue with striking red flames, horns, and claws. The dragon is chasing a flaming pearl amidst stylized clouds.
The neck and shoulder are adorned with delicate blue and white wave patterns and Ruyi cloud borders, while the base features a classic "sea water" motif.
Measuring just 5.7 inches tall, this piece is perfectly scaled for a bookshelf, a display cabinet, or an elegant desk. It brings a powerful pop of color and a regal touch of Chinoiserie elegance to any space. A beautiful and auspicious gift for collectors of Asian art.
