A substantial and beautifully proportioned antique Royal Bonn porcelain jardinière by Franz Anton Mehlem of Bonn, Germany, distinguished by its elegant rounded form, sculptural molded handles, gently flared rim, and delicate green botanical decoration.
The luminous ivory-white porcelain ground is embellished with a graceful hand-painted green floral and foliate garland encircling the upper body, accented by restrained gilt detailing. The softly sculptural silhouette and ornamental handles reflect the refined decorative vocabulary of late 19th- to early 20th-century German porcelain, with a particularly appealing Art Nouveau sensibility.
The underside bears the distinctive green tower mark associated with Franz Anton Mehlem of Bonn, identifying the piece with the celebrated Royal Bonn tradition of German decorative porcelain. The factory's green tower mark is documented in use during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
At approximately 12 inches high and 13 inches wide across the handles, this is an impressive decorative object with genuine presence. Equally suited as a porcelain jardinière, cachepot, planter, or architectural centerpiece, it would make an elegant statement on a console, dining table, entryway, mantel, or within a curated collection of European decorative arts.
A sophisticated example of antique German porcelain, combining sculptural form, botanical decoration, delicate gilding, and the enduring appeal of Royal Bonn.

The piece retains its original hand-painted green botanical decoration and gilt accents, which remain attractive overall. A small, fine hairline crack is present inside the upper rim/lip and is visible upon close inspection. No chips or other repairs noted. Minor age-related wear, light surface marks, and occasional firing/manufacturing irregularities are consistent with the age and nature of antique German porcelain. Please review photographs carefully for additional condition details. less
