This is a beautiful vintage Chinese Blue and White "Rouleau" Vase, featuring a distinct, warm crackle glaze background.
The vase is decorated with a classic historical scene depicting "Guiguzi Descending the Mountain". The painting shows a distinguished, bearded sage seated in a chariot, pulled by mythical beasts, with a driver guiding the cart. The scene is framed by pine trees and rugged rock formations, painted in a rich cobalt blue that contrasts beautifully against the aged, cracked ivory glaze.
The vase features a traditional "mallet" shape with a disc-shaped mouth, straight neck, and rounded shoulder.
