An exceptional production piece designed by the legendary Laura de Santillana for Venini in 1985. Created as part of the Laura - sommersi oro series for her family’s furnace, this early execution exemplifies the sophisticated Murano glass craftsmanship of the 1980s.
Crafted from blue glass infused with sheets of gold foil, the vase takes its distinctive form during blowing, where the internal gold layer fractures organically. It is subsequently thickly cased in clear glass, sealing the foil between the layers while leaving the exterior completely smooth.
Signed and dated on the base with the engraved inscription: venini italia Laura 85. This piece has an attribution mark,
