Large and spectacular Murano glass fountain, made in Italy around the mid-20th century. The work features a complex internal metal structure entirely covered with numerous individually assembled glass elements. The large circular basin, base, and stem are composed of imposing transparent green glass elements, characterized by an elaborate ribbed pattern and a unique internal surface that produces numerous reflections when lit. The upper section is embellished with a composition of small clear glass flowers arranged along the perimeter and decorative figures in clear and yellow glass. At the center rises a large clear glass element, with a characteristic corolla shape, also crafted with vertical ribs. Of particular interest is the complex system, originally designed to combine water, light, movement, and color. Inside the basin is a disk divided into colored glass sectors, connected to a small device activated by the movement of the water. During operation, the rotation of the disc progressively changes the color of the light, creating different chromatic effects through the water and the glass elements. The fountain retains its original FICEM Milano self-priming pump. The pump, which has been unused for many years, is currently blocked and will need to be overhauled before being put back into operation. For the time being, it was decided to preserve it, prioritizing the preservation of the original historic system; if restoration is not possible, it can be replaced with a modern pump. The lighting system has recently been partially updated with the addition of LED strips, installed to increase brightness and further enhance the reflections on the glass. There are also some subsequent interventions on the electrical system. The fountain is overall in good condition, with normal signs of aging, small signs of use, and oxidation of the metal and brass parts, particularly visible in the lower area. A decorative object of great presence, conceived as a true luminous and kinetic sculpture, in which the tradition of Venetian glass combines with the effects of water, light, and movement typical of post-war Italian design.
