the item has a distinctive cylindrical barrel shape, a wooden lid with a decorative handle, and a large, foldable carrying handle. The body is adorned with brass bands and the preserved inscription “cookies.”

on the bottom, there is a slightly smudged original stamp reading “basketville, putney, vermont,” which unequivocally links the item to the basketville factory in vermont.
