An elegant French bed crown canopy dating from the 1920s, featuring its original semi-circular wooden structure completely upholstered with richly decorated textiles.

The exterior is covered in beautiful glazed cotton chintz on an ivory ground, decorated with vertically arranged bouquets of flowers tied with delicate ribbon motifs. The soft palette of ivory, blush pink, pale yellow and green gives the textile an understated romantic elegance, typical of refined French interiors from the early twentieth century.

The entire front edge is enriched with generous antique blush-pink silk passementerie fringe, creating beautifully sculptural swags around the crown.

The interior is fully lined with antique dusty pink silk, creating a warm and luxurious contrast with the floral exterior fabric. The rear panel falls straight behind the bed while the two side panels are intentionally cut longer, allowing them to frame the sleeping area with graceful folds.
