Probably Japanese wood. Height approx. 6 cm, width approx. 28 cm, depth approx. 9 cm. Black lacquer with silver dragon decoration. Black lacquered interior. Depiction of an Asian dragon. with lock, no key. Clear signs of wear, scratches, and chips on the edges – see photos. These lacquerware pieces were traditionally made at sea, as only there were the dust-free conditions essential for the delicate lacquer finish. See less
