Vintage Beswick Mr. Micawber Character Jugs, Pair
Charming pair of vintage Beswick Ware Mr. Micawber character jugs, model No. 310, made in England. Based on the character from Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield, each jug features a sculptural “Title Deeds” handle.
One has the classic green top hat and the other the less common black top hat. Both have wonderful expressive faces and glossy hand-painted finishes. Produced circa 1940–1970.
Vintage condition with age-related glaze crazing and some wear and small chips around the bottom edges, as pictured. Beautiful displayed together and great for collectors of English pottery, Dickens memorabilia or quirky vintage decor.
Approximately 9 inches tall.
