These antique doors from France, with a height of nearly 8.5 feet, each feature a glass panel upper section divided by slender muntins into six lights arranged in a two-over-three configuration. The lower section of each door is fitted with two raised panels embellished with molded diamond motifs, adding subtle decorative character and visual balance to the otherwise utilitarian design. The original cast iron roller assemblies are mounted above each door. The heavy iron wheels, with pierced circular detailing, retain a rich aged patina and provide an authentic industrial element. The overhead rollers bring the overall height from 101 inches at door top, to 108.5 inches at the top of the hardware. As with any of our antique doors, we strongly advise that you consult with your contractor or architect to discuss the necessary measurements and hardware to make this piece work for your project. There is a scraped finish revealing layers of timeworn paint and underlying wood, resulting in a beautifully distressed patina. The reverse side presents an unadorned finish. This tall pair of early 19th century French sliding doors would make outstanding room dividers (allowing natural light to pass through while maintaining separation between adjoining spaces), pantry doors, wine cellar entrances, loft partitions, or decorative architectural features in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
