An evocative 18th-century pastoral landscape by Richard Earlom (1743–1822), after Claude Lorrain (1600–1682), from the celebrated Liber Veritatis series. This is Plate No. 87, published in London by John Boydell on May 1, 1775, after the original Claude drawing then in the collection of the Duke of Devonshire.
Earlom beautifully translates Claude's idyllic landscape into a finely detailed etching and mezzotint, depicting shepherdesses and grazing livestock beneath mature trees, with a stone bridge and distant landscape beyond. Warm brown and softly muted tones give the work the appearance and atmosphere of an Old Master drawing.
The lower margin retains the original engraved inscriptions, including “Claude le Lorrain delin.”, “R. Earlom fecit,” Plate No. 87, and the Boydell publication line.
The print is presented under glass with a warm cream mat and narrow russet border in a handsome wood frame with gilt inner molding, all of which complement the wonderfully aged character of the work.
Of particular interest is the surviving verso label documenting the piece as from the collection of Eugene B. Okarma of Atlanta, Georgia, associated with the renowned Okarma Jones Gallery. The original collection/authenticity label remains intact on the reverse.
A sophisticated piece of Georgian-era British printmaking with an exceptional decorative presence—equally suited to a traditional library, study, collected gallery wall, or layered contemporary interior.

The vintage wood and gilt frame shows age-appropriate surface wear, including minor scuffs, losses, and patina. The cream mat shows some age-related toning. Framed under glass. The reverse retains its older paper backing, hanging wire, and provenance/authentication label, all showing expected age and wear. Not examined out of frame.
