The softly translucent white glass body is formed with pronounced vertical rigadin ribbing, a traditional Murano technique in which the molten glass is blown into a ribbed mold. Colorful millefiori murrine are scattered around the lower portion, including small floral, star and geometric motifs in red, blue, green, yellow and violet. A thick clear glass casing adds depth to the white interior and magnifies the individual murrine.

The compact scale and restrained use of color give the vase a particularly appealing modern quality. It is unmarked, and the Murano attribution is based upon its glassmaking techniques, materials and construction rather than a documented manufacturer. See less
