Beautiful vintage German porcelain figurine depicting the Madonna tenderly holding the Christ Child. Rendered in a serene palette of soft powder blue, white and subtle blush tones, the piece features a glossy glazed finish and finely modeled details throughout.
Mary is portrayed kneeling with the Christ Child nestled against her, creating an especially graceful and intimate interpretation of the traditional Madonna and Child. Delicate facial features, flowing folds of the garments and the softly modeled halo give the sculpture an elegant European porcelain quality.
The underside bears a crowned “M” maker’s mark and “Germany”, confirming German manufacture.
A lovely devotional object as well as a decorative porcelain collectible, particularly suited to a traditional, European, French-inspired or collected interior.
