What makes this piece special is on the back. It carries the photographer's own rubber stamp — "Ken Lambert Pictures, Washington DC" — along with a full handwritten note, signed and dated February 25, 1994, from photographer Ken Lambert to a friend named Steve:

*"Steve — This is a much-too-late 'thank-you' for your recommendation two years ago. I wouldn't have taken this image without it. Best, Ken" with a footnote: "I hate the word 'candid,' but in this case I'm clearly guilty of outright theft."

Ken Lambert is a working photojournalist who came up through the Washington, DC photography scene — shooting for the Washington Times and the Associated Press — before relocating to Seattle, where he has spent decades as a staff photographer for The Seattle Times, covering news and features (and more recently drone photography). This print dates to that earlier DC chapter of his career, and the inscription gives it real documented provenance: not just a signed print, but a small piece of correspondence between the photographer and the person whose tip led to the shot.

Condition: frame and mat presentable, with the expected light handling wear; please note any scuffing to the frame corners in your own photos. Wire hanger intact on the back.
