Beautiful vintage rectangular picture frame featuring richly grained dark wood, carved decorative details, and a warm gilt inner border. The layered construction gives the frame substantial depth and an elegant architectural presence.
The frame is fitted with a Gustav Klimt bookplate illustration titled Fulfilment (Cartoon for the Stoclet frieze), 1905-9, after the original mixed technique on paper held by the Österreichisches Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Vienna. The bookplate comes from Gustav Klimt, Women by Angelica Baumer, published by Rizzoli in the 1995 edition. The combination of the richly toned wood frame and the Klimt image creates a striking decorative piece with strong Art Nouveau appeal.
A wonderful choice for display on a wall, shelf, or easel.
