Space Age Cobra table lamp, designed by Masayuki Kurokawa in the 1970s.
This design reflects the prevailing design trends in Japan during the 1970s: Metabolism in architecture and a kind of futuristic functionalism in design.
This lamp has the appearance of a small character, yet it is highly functional. The rubberized arm with its ribbed texture flows seamlessly into a lacquered steel base. The metal shade fits perfectly into the arm.
The lamp is in good condition with signs of wear and patina.
